Making "Canang Sari" Daily offerings of Hinduism society in Bali


Canang Sari is one of Daily Balinese Hindus people offerings made to thank the Gods in praise and pray. You will see these offerings in the temples, on small shrines in houses, and on the ground or as a part of a large offering.

The phrase canang sari is derived from the words "sari" its mean essence and "canang" is a small square made from coconut leaf decorated with a combination of colourful flowers.

Canang sari normally filled with colorful flowers. The colors of the flowers are white, red, yellow, blue or green. Those colors are not randomly chosen; they have different meaning and are placed in specific directions.

A Canang Sari is completed by placing on top of the canang an amount of money (Kepeng), which is sais to makr up the essebce (Sari) of the offerring. Canang Sari is made from young yellow palm leafs, flowers, and foodstuff and art from assosiated with every ritual in Bali. Balinese believe inthe forces of the invisible worlds dictates that offerings be createdwith a spirit of thankfulness and loving attention to details.

Balinese always offering Canang Sari every day, except there are some one death arounf village. canang offered to say thankfullness to the God (Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa), for what was we get in our life. Canang sari is simplest daiky household offering. Canang sari usualy offer in Temple, Family temple, cross road, house, sacred statue, shops or other place that belief saced. Thats all to make the world balance.

If you see canang sari on the ground when you are walking around street, do not step over or step on it because it is considered as not respecting the culture and the religion. Especially the ones with incense that is still burning.
