Just north of the central township of Ubud, you will find the magnificent emerald green rice terraces of Tegalalang village. Early morning is perhaps the best time to visit where you can peacefully sit and take in the views as you start your day in Bali. A range of cafes and handicraft stalls are open set against the stunning backdrop of the rice terraces. Tegalalang rice fields represent a remnant of the ‘old Bali’ in which life centred around rice farming.
